The 126 Squadron Rifle Drill Display Team is made up of a number of cadets that show an interest to being in the squad and then taken down to 16 members that create the performance team. The team has performed at a number of events over the years with the most prominent of those being the Birmingham International Military Tattoo and a performance to the Queens Colour Squadron at RAF Northalt in 2015.
The team also perform at local events such as the War Memorial Village open day back in August and annually at RAF Wittering as part of their Officers Dining In night. As well as this, the team has the fantastic opportunity to be the only team permitted to perform rifle drill in the public domain alongside the Queens Colour Squadron and have regularly been recommended to events by the QCS should they not be able to make it.
We’re also at the forefront of the corps with many of our cadets going to the National Drill and Ceremonial Camp with cadets to advance their drills and skill. We even had a cadet win the Warrant Officer Tonks Award for Excellence in 2014 – this was ex – Cadet Warrant Officer Amber Short who oversaw the team at the time.
